Cool Cuts Competition at Big Jims

Room three have been having lots of fun recreating our class photo for the Cool Cuts Competition at Big Jims Garden Center. The competition runs from the 6th October through to the 12th October, with the winner being announced at 3 pm on Sunday. If you are out that way over the holidays, be sure to drop in and vote for us and also check out Room fours entry. The Frankley Garden Group also have two Crazy Creatures on display.

Taking Up The Challenge

With all of the wind lately it has been wonderful to see the children collecting a lot of rubbish from around the school. Well done Room three. That is heaps of rubbish that won't find it's way into our waterways.

Room three have decided to take up Sophie's Challenge to pick up twenty pieces of rubbish every day for two weeks  We have had a great start.

The Grocery Raffle

What a good start for the grocery raffle this week. It is our last week this week so lets see if we can have this box overflowing. We are asking for packet items this week, but really anything will be fabulous. 

Egmont Seeds

On Monday we had a wonderful visit to Egmont Seeds. John took us through the whole factory and explained each part of the process to import and package seeds for the New Zealand market. Egmont Seeds provides all of the seeds to the Warehouse, Bunning's, Mitre 10 etc. as well as providing the seeds for growers like Watties. I think we were all  amazed with the size of their business.Egmont Seeds generously gave each child packets of seeds to take home and plant. We have a Mail Order catalogue in class  for you  to have a look at if you would like to. Alternatively you can Google egmontseeds.co.nz to view the catalogue on-line.
