The Rock Pools

We had a fabulous time today at the rock pools. We found some awesome living creatures and saw all of the neat patterns, shapes and textures on them. 

There was a little bit of fun at the playground as well.

Len Lye Art Gallery Visit

We had a fabulous trip to the Art Gallery today. We learnt about batik and got to view some of the wonderful pieces that Len Lye has done. Later the children got the opportunity to create their own special piece of batik using cold wax and paper.

The Hundreds Board

We are learning about the numerals to 100. We have been looking at patterns of numerals and the sequence of numerals from 0 to 100.

Today the Cubes Group put together a new 100's Chart.

A Special Visitor

Today we were lucky to have Mr Archer from the Taranaki Regional Council come to visit us. He talked to us about the Rock Pools and all the creatures that we might be likely to find there. Mr Archer also taught us how to show respect for the seashore creatures.

Swimming Demonstration

Thank you to all of the parents that were able to join their children today and watch our swimming demonstration. Our focus has been on learning to relax in the water and be comfortable floating on your fronts as well as your back.We also like to have fun of course.

3D Shapes

Room 3 have been learning about three dimensional shapes. We decided to make one of our own. To make the shape we started with a net ( a pattern ) of the shape that we wanted to make. Next we carefully decorated the shapes using Zentangle patterns. We had to put double sided tape on the flaps at the sides of the shape so that we could stick the shape together. Don't they look fabulous.
