Building Clocks
In Te Puawai we have been learning to tell time. We decided to build clocks out of unconventional materials on Friday. The groups of children had to communicate well so that they could decide how to make the hands, how to show the numbers correctly and decide on a time to display.
Taranaki Cricket
A great day was had by all when the Taranaki Cricketers came to teach us some skills on Friday. Luckily the rain stayed away long enough to let us complete our sessions.
Weaving
In Te Puawai we have been learning to weave. We began by collecting long straight leaves from the school environment and then we wove them through the rather ugly orange fencing we have around our school at the moment.
Next we have tried paper weaving.

Fun with Clay
Yesterday we had a lot of fun working with clay. Rooms 3 & 4 learnt how to join different pieces of clay.
SCORE, SLIP, SMEAR. Next we had fun modelling the clay.
Fancy Dress
What a wonderful evening. It was lovely to see all the children dressed up, enjoying themselves and the dancing was fabulous as well. Well done Room Three.

Over the last few weeks Room Three have been very busy creating a Wearable Arts Outfit which we have entered into the Taranaki Fashion Art Awards. We finished it on Friday and Isla carefully modeled it for the photos.
The Taranaki Fashion Art Awards are on Friday and Saturday night at 7.30pm, at the TSB Showplace. Room Three and Four are both entered into the Child section of the Time for Eccentricity Category.
