Room Threes Wearable Art Costume

Feathered in Foil

Over the last few weeks Room Three have been very busy creating a Wearable Arts Outfit which we have entered into the Taranaki Fashion Art Awards. We finished it on Friday and Isla carefully modeled it for the photos.

The Taranaki Fashion Art Awards are on Friday and Saturday night at 7.30pm, at the TSB Showplace. Room Three and Four are both entered into the Child section of the Time for Eccentricity Category.

Book Week

Thank you to Mrs Cameron for organising another fabulous book week which finished with Dress Up day on Friday. The children looked amazing and of course we had lots of fun.

Wearing Art

We have been very busy in Room Three making hundreds of feathers from foil so that we can sew them onto our outfit. We are now making feathers from plastic as well for necklaces and head gear. This week we have even started sewing it together.

Wearing Art

OUR TASK

There is a Wearable Arts competition in Taranaki soon. Your task is to design and then create a colourful outfit that has contrast, repetition and texture from recycled materials. Your outfit should be creative, original, strong and wearable.
Name your outfit, thinking about the recycling message you are showing.

Room 3 will then collectively construct the best design for the Taranaki Fashion Art Awards competition.

Fancy Dress Time

On Friday we were lucky to have Olivia and Ella come and teach us some dance moves that we could use in Room 3 & 4's Fancy Dress Dance. Thank you girls.

Author Visit

Today we were lucky to have two authors come and talk to us about their craft. Rebecca and Linley like to write their stories together. They often like to retell fairy tales in their own way with a twist to the plot. Rebecca and Linley have also written a lovely tale about the last Kokako that was found in Taranaki's forest.
