Ethan L was bothered about the amount of rubbish along  the Waimea stream edge. The quest team and a partner from Room three decided to take action and clean up the streams edge.

Well done team. You have made a positive difference today.

A New Challenge

Last week this quest team from Room 67 issued us with a challenge. They are concerned about the amount of rubbish going into the strems and then into the ocean. This rubbish is killing sea turtles, fish and sea birds. Our challenge is to pick up at least ten pieces of rubbish each per day for ten days. Ethan suggested we create a chart to show who is participating in the challenge.

These are some of the target species that the group were concerned about.

Swan Plant

Today we used some of our new knowledge and transplanted some little swan plant seedlings into bigger pots. Hopefully next year they will attract a lot of butterflies and we can watch the Life Cycle of the Butterfly in action.

Growing Greens

Over the weekend the Seedling Sales at the Gala from Room Three and Four, was very successful. Along with the plant stall we helped to raise $1,400 for the School. Thanks to all the parents who have helped to support Room three and four throughout our Growing Greens topic.

Fabulous Cushion Covers

Room Threes cushion cover designs were very impressive.

Our Carnival Craft

Our carnival craft is now all ready or sale on Sunday. Today we needed to tidy up the edges of our pillow covers using an overlocker sewing machine. Mikaere had no problems using the accelerator (foot pedal) on the sewing machine even though it is a bit different to a Motor Cross bike.

Just to finish off next we needed to iron the covers.
