Building Clocks

In Te Puawai we have been learning to tell time. We decided to build clocks out of unconventional materials on Friday. The groups of children had to communicate well so that they could decide how to make the hands, how to show the numbers correctly and decide on a time to display.

Taranaki Cricket

A great day was had by all when the Taranaki Cricketers came to teach us some skills on Friday. Luckily the rain stayed away long enough to let us complete our sessions.

Weaving

In Te Puawai we have been learning to weave. We began by collecting long straight leaves from the school environment and then we wove them through the rather ugly orange fencing we have around our school at the moment.

Next we have tried paper weaving.

Te Puawai

Now that we have a new blended class (Rooms 3 & 4) who are learning together in the hall, we have chosen a new name.
Te Puawai - which means to flourish.
We have a lot of new spaces to learn in now.

100 Books Read

Congratulations to Piper for completing her 100 Books Read Challenge. What an amazing effort.
